Not to brag, but I am quite proud of the latest storage mechanism for my adornments. After searching high and low for an organizer set that would fit my goals, I just could not find what I needed - so decided to make my own! As a maker for many years (even before “maker” was common parlance), I have experience with many different tools and platforms for creating “stuff”, so I set out to winnow down the various options out there.
One of the joys of having a collection is variety. Having lots of variety ensures that you will always be able to find just the right thing to fit your mood, so in this blog entry, we’re going to focus on a variety of materials that adornments are made of. With lots of options, you’ll never find yourself unable to find something to wear!
As an avid maker, and all around handy guy, I’ve had the opportunity to design and print rings on my 3D printer. Depending on material, fill, and finish, a 3D printed ring is basically just a plastic adornment. The most common materials for 3D printing are PLA, ABS, and PETG when it comes to FDM and resin for higher resolution items. All of which are a very lightweight material that can get even lighter when reducing the infill settings.
As I hung around Reddit, a fellow redditor reached out for some advice.

This fifth generation solution of adornment storage is the best of all, if I do say so myself. As an avid collector, with hundreds of items in the collection and no desire to slow down or stop any time soon, I was beginning to burst at the seams of my prior storage solution and needed to think about a new way of storing things.

This is the fourth generation of the collection - and is ultimately just an evolution on the third generation and first generation solutions. With so much space available for rings, I had no issues… but as I decided to play more with sounds and glans rings, I outstripped the ability of my storage solution to keep up. Plus, with my sounds and some weights still in the original storage solution, I figured it was time to move it all to its own home.

This is the third generation of the collection. As I continued to expand my collection with a strong focus on rings, the need to roughly double or triple the capacity of the storage solution became evident. Because the previous generation of storage suited me quite well, I brought forward several parts of the solution into this generation. Starting with the watch organizer I had used before, I decided to double up on ring storage space by purchasing a second. These watch organizers, with their velvet texture, is an excellent way to protect the investment in your collection thanks to the soft sides. It should also go without saying that a jewelry organizer certainly provides a handsome way to present rings (especially metal rings). As can seen by the picture of the collection, multiple rings will fit in the each compartment with the only deciding factor being the width of the ring. Aside from one or two massive units in the collection, every ring I own fit well in the compartment and had enough room to add a few standing vertically on the size. While in the neighborhood I also picked up a few extra watch pillows.

This very first storage solution for the collection is how it all began: the place we stored our sex toys of all variety. As can be seen in the image, this storage solution holds sundry playtime things from ranging from leathers to insertables. The storage solution is simply a vaultz locking storage box. Looking in the right corner of the case, one can see a few storage pouches that held my very first few rings and cage. As I (slowly) grew the collection, I ended up adding a third and fourth pouch to hold things… ultimately leading to the need to grow into some dedicated storage!
When specifically speaking about rings, the key function the size of the ring plays is how much it constricts blood outflow from one’s penis. A smaller diameter will allow less blood out. Knowing your sizes in advance allows you to decide in advance how much you want to constrict (and how hard you want to get). This is all part of the balancing act - an act that is influenced by your mood and your intentions when you put the ring on.
The level of comfort for an adornment is influenced by a number of factors - some are obvious while others are a bit more surprising to hear. In fact, some of the things that I prefer for a comfortable wear are in opposition to days where I prefer my adornment to… um… do a little more than look good.
In my experience, the absolute most important factor for comfort is the shape of the adornment. It is all but guaranteed that a steel tube with crisp 90 degree edges is going to pinch while wearing. The most common item for comfortable wear is a typical cock ring, so put that on as the general mental model of our discussion here - but don’t only think of rings. Many of the things that make for a comfortably shaped ring apply to other types of adornments.
