Sizing

| October 15, 2022

When specifically speaking about rings, the key function the size of the ring plays is how much it constricts blood outflow from one’s penis. A smaller diameter will allow less blood out. Knowing your sizes in advance allows you to decide in advance how much you want to constrict (and how hard you want to get). This is all part of the balancing act - an act that is influenced by your mood and your intentions when you put the ring on.

What do I mean by that? Well, why are you wearing the ring?

  • You just like to feel it there while running around town - Pick your average size or a bit larger. For me, that is 2"
  • You want to feel a pump? - Wear your Goldilocks size. That is 1 7/8" for me to allow a nice, firm erection
  • You want to get as hard as possible? - Go smaller, but be careful. Getting hard with a 1 3/4" ring promises the absolute hardest erection I can bear

Finding the Balance

So how do you find your size? There are lots of bits of advice out there - and it even varies by manufacturer. Unfortunately, there is no 100% answer because everyone’s body is different - and some of us are grow-ers and some of us are show-ers.

Your starting point should be this (from toolshedtoys.com):

-Take a string and slip it behind your balls and tug it up around the top of your penis (where it meets your body). The string should be pulled snugly to get an accurate measurement, but not too tight.

-Mark the string on both sides where it comes together at the top.

-Remove the string and measure between the marks. This measurement will give you your circumference of your cock and balls (behind your scrotum).

-Take your circumference measurement and divide by 3.14 (or “pi,” for those who remember their geometry). This measurement will give you your diameter, which is how most cock rings are sized.

-Repeat this process a few times to assure an accurate measurement.

-When choosing an inflexible ring material such as metal, do not choose a diameter that is smaller than your physical measurement.

Indeed - great advice - but if you’re going to get serious about your collection and how your adornments will work for you, you will have to experiment to find the ideal size. For example… what happens if you’re using a stretchy jelly ring? What about a slightly flexible silicone ring?

Personal experience and experimentation is the only way you will come to know what sizes are uniquely yours.

What Works For Me

How does this come together? It’s pretty straight forward. For my sizeCock ring

  • 2" - Is great for the looks, but not much else. It does next to nothing for outflow restriction and hardness. In fact, if wearing it around town, a 2" ring of any sort of weight will all but promise that it will slide down and forward through the day.
  • 1 7/8" - My “ideal” size is tight enough to encourage an excellent erection but also not so tight that it creates issues. As long as the ring itself is comfortable, I can wear it all day and night. Yes, I sometimes do actually sleep while wearing my ring (this is an advanced maneuver - be careful!!!) It’s kind of nice, when in a congruent mood, to have a modest chub all throughout the night.
  • 1 3/4" - Will give me a hard on I could hunt and kill big game with. While a thick, veiny erection is great, the outflow is so severely constricted that my manhood (shaft and balls included) will start to turn purple if I stay in that state for too long. If I fall asleep with it on, I will wake up in pain. If I am particularly engorged during that session, there will even be small subcutaneous bruises where vessels burst!

Similarly, shaft rings work like so on my anatomy:

  • 1 1/2" - Is this thing even on?
  • 1 3/8" - “Ideal” size
  • 1 1/4" - Painfully tight
