Custom Sapele Wood Wavy Cock Ring

What do you do when you trawl about the Internet looking to add to your collection and fail to find anything new that especially grabs your attention? Why… have a custom adornment made! The inspiration hit me while I was wandering the random cock rings on Etsy. Funny enough, Etsy doesn’t care to comprehend the difference between a penis ring and a finger ring, often sprinkling in sponsored advertisements and “you might like” links within the search results for a cock ring. In this case, I saw a finger ring style that I had never seen before. While most purveyors of tungsten carbide rings cannot customize their offerings, I’ve had great luck with sellers on Etsy who make wooden rings being willing to make a custom piece for a bit of a larger part of the body. So, with that, I reached out to the seller and Maksym helped make it happen.

While the normal design of the rings made by this seller are comprised of many layers of wood wrapped around a central axis, Maksym indicated that this would result in a pretty visible joint where the last portion of wood ends. He suggested instead we make it from a solid piece of Sapele or Wenge wood. I took the advice to avoid the obvious joint, but at the sacrifice of the grain of the wood following along the outside of the ring. The result was handsome indeed, thought I wonder how the result would have turned out if done the other way (perhaps I should order another?)

As is my standard size, I was aiming for 47.5mm inner diameter and am blown away by how close to the mark the result came - only .02mm larger! In a handcrafted piece, this is difficult to achieve. The waviness of the finger ring came through in this larger piece, but the waves are not as “deep” as can be seen on the finger ring. This is a simple function of scale (a wider ring makes the waves appear more shallow), but also comes at the benefit of not being as dramatic on a cock ring. This ring wears very comfortably, but I suspect it would not be so comfortable if the waves were much more pronounced. Being made of wood, it’s also very light and could be easily forgotten about until you move and feel the continual constriction. After carving the piece, the only additional request needed was to ask for the inner portion of the ring to be radiused a little more to avoid pinching on the edges.

I’ve come to like this specially made piece quite a bit. In fact, as I wrote this story and summary, I’ve convinced myself to order another but in darker wood and with a long strip so the grain can follow the outside of the ring. More to come!
