Remember when I mentioned that I saw a split domed ring from Hard Man Outfitters in their newsletter… but couldn’t find it? Well… I found it! I’m not sure what is up with HMO’s website and their search results, but finding products from search engines on their site is always hit or miss! Hard Man Outfitters, known for their cool designs, released this cock splint a while ago. I thought it was neat at the time I saw it, but didn’t jump at the addition. As a subscriber to their newsletter, it popped in as a sale item (or some other discount) and it reminded me that I should give it a whirl! This splint has an interesting design. Built from aluminum and coated with a hammered gray metallic finish, it is much lighter than it appears.
OK… so in a previous review, I may have said that I cannot decide if I like the hex pattern or the net pattern better for my own custom-designed adornment. I think I’ve settled on the net pattern being preferred - and to drive the point home, I decided to build a crowning achievement in my absolute favorite adornment style: a gorgeous triple ring of this current favorite design! The design itself just a fusion of the standard ring (review, a newly designed shaft ring and a newly designed ball ring.
Having signed up for the hard man outfitters newsletter/insider club, I received an e-blast about some upcoming new products. One of them was a new ring called a split dome (or something similar). I had seen this kind of ring before, but forgot all about them until the newsletter popped in. It got me thinking about the style again. Being oddly shaped compared to the other adornments in my collection, I was wondering if I would even like the fit at all when a thought occurred to me: The design is simple enough that I could model and print one to find out!
Every now and again I make sure to check in to various sources for adornments, and seldom does Etsy disappoint after filtering through the junk. Recently, I discovered Der Stahlmeister (the steel master) and was quickly drawn to their double ring thanks to the fact that it can be customized and is curved for maximum comfort. Having experimented with a home made saturn ring, I was pretty sure I would like the steel version.
I make no secret about the fact that I adore combination adornments that feature cock and shaft encirclement. I am also extremely drawn to the black leather strap with a polished stainless ring combination because that was actually the second adornment I ever purchased! My first was a neoprene shaft ring at 1 1/4" which proved to be an intense entrypoint to the art given that it was at least 1/8" too small.

In this case, the “Satin Cock Ring with Double Black Accents” ring comes only in sizes that would work well as shaft or cock ring… but there are plenty of Generic glans rings available featuring a brushed stainless finish with rubber accent ring should you wish to go the full 10 yards!
I’ve been a fan of The Chain Gang for a while simply because they are one of the few manufacturers out there that offer a wide variety of cool adornments. They have several designs that are available as a cock ring, shaft ring, and a glans ring - for those that like to have a fully decked out member in matching accoutrements. The ‘button strap’ design is one such design. It features a scalloped set of ridges along the outer diameter of the ring finished in a highly polished stainless steel.
Gear Essentials (RIP) was always a forward thinking design shop. The Hold is an example of their clever design work. Precision cut from stainless steel, this cock/shaft/ball weight/cage traps all your business in its grasp. For my sizing, I went with the 1 7/8" cock ring with the 1 3/8" shaft opening. As a sucker for combination rings and cages, this fit was just what the doctor ordered - which comes as no surprise given the machining excellence of Gear Essentials over the year.
This comfortable chastity “trainer” is available from AliExpress from the Magicare brand. The adornment, like similar “trainers” from Chaste Bird, features a collection of firm plastic base cock rings and an oval shaped shaft ring. The shaft ring is about 1.25" x 1.45" which lands at a nearly perfect shaft ring size of 1.35" for me (my preference is 1.375). What is different from my other “trainer” cage rings is how this one attaches the base and shaft rings.
Described as a chastity trainer, this cock and shaft combination cage is right up my alley because of my affinity to cock strap/shaft ring combinations. As with many cheap cages, this one is liable to pinch as you manouvre into it… but once it is on, the issue tends to subside. The cock ring on this device is perfectly sized, and the shaft ring matches at 1.35 inches. Unlike my other “trainer” cages, this one has a shaft cage that runs 1.
Yet another target of opportunity repurpose, this adornment comes courtesy of AliExpress made to serve the purpose of a chandelier crystal. In this case, it also turns out to be a great size for a shaft ring. Who wouldn’t give it a shot for only $3.50 to your door? As a shaft ring, the crystal performs admirably if not uncomfortably. They are clear, but definitely not cut for comfort around your member given the semi-sharp edges and unrounded interior ring.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Such is life and such is the result of experimentation with industrial components as adornments. While browsing AliExpress for items to repurpose into rings, I came across these shaft collars used to lock movement of rotating assemblies in place on a shaft. A few dollars later, I had about ten collars headed my way. The experiment was hit or miss… with mostly misses. Naturally, these shaft collars were not cut for comfort, so they feature angular and sharp edges.
AliExpress marketplace is a target rich environment for adornments. Given that many rings one would purchase online ultimiately originate in China (except a few standouts that make their gear in shop like Ballistic Metal and Blue Collar Fetish Wear), it’s a great place to find the same fare but for far cheaper prices and often times before it is available widespread here at home. In this case, the maker chose to take two stainless wire rings and bend them (as my favorite wire cock rings go).
This interesting adornment features larger stainless steel balls soldered together to form a firm ring. The design is interesting and the size of the individual stainless beads reduces the pressure one would expect to feel from such a design. All in all, a decent addition to the collection.
Conceptually, this adornment’s design should be neat and unique. It is a silicone ring with two stainless steel half rings embedded inside. This should give the benefits of flexible silicone and the rigidity and constriction of stainless. Unfortunately, it all falls apart rather quickly. While the size is close to my preferred goldilocks size for a shaft ring, the inner profile of the ring is as thin as a typical wire ring.
Hard Man Outfitters has some unique shaft rings available in much thicker size than you may be used to. These thicker rings offer the boon of a reduced pressure point when erect and a bit more visual interest thanks to the wider ring. These are easily some of the best shaft rings available - I have a few for swapping into other adornments such as a strap/shaft combo and also keep an available 8mm and 10mm size depending on how the mood strikes me.
As a maker and owner if a 3D Printer, I had the idea to browse the web for ring models that could be scaled to adornment size. I was relatively successful in finding this particular model. After a quick bit of calculation and sizing, the perfect scaling parameters were available and the custom shaft ring ready to print. I think the results turned out quite nice and this shade of silver provides a handsome accent at the base of a hard on.
While browsing Ebay for stuff I could repurpose to wrap around ny junk, this attractive bracelet stood out as a likely contender. Made of faux leather and accented with silver jewelry bands, all it took to repurpose was a razor knife, tape measure, gorilla glue, and knowledge if the size I wanted. As I’ve noted in many reviews before, I love cock and shaft combos so this pair of repurposed bracelets created a nicely matching set.
Blue Collar Fetish Wear on Etsy offers some really great adornments with the ability to customize aspects of your order such as color and stitching. My favorite for getting down to business is the classic strap and shaft combo - and this one being customized to my choices makes it the perfect addition to the collection. The elegant black strap is accented with purple stitching while the shaft ring strap received the inverse treatment of purple leather and black stitching.
Cheap target of opportunity purchases on AliExpress sometimes work out for me. While browsing one day, I came across this jewelry style beaded shaft ring. It’s thin and cheap, but still visually interesting. Unfortunately, the sizing was a bit off and the ring is too small to use comfortably as a shaft ring. Perhaps if it were wider, I could get away with it… but the narrow profile hurts when things harden up.
These rings from Tangaland offer some stylish accents to your erection. Sized as standard shaft rings typically are sized, these rings bear an unfortunate height causing them to dig and pinch when engorged. I would say they’d be nearly perfect if not for the narrow bands given how attractive and stylish the designs are. Featuring stainless steel and accenting metals or gems, these rings really are neat additions to the collection… but the comfort challenges keep them from being regularly used

In this case, I spent an afternoon modelling the ideal shaft ring and parameterizing the model (OpenSCAD) to support customization and adjustments. After a few prototypes, the perfect shaft ring was born precisely to the dimensions and style I wanted. The design of this adornment features a slightly flared base and gently radiused inner profile for supreme comfort.
How about a shaft ring that features the width of a modest cock ring? It could be aggressively tight but avoid crushing the vessels in a narrow area of the shaft. Well that sure sounds interesting! In this case, I spent an afternoon modelling the ideal Kali’s Teeth glans/shaft ring and parameterizing the model (OpenSCAD) to support customization and adjustments. After a few prototypes, the perfect model was born allowing for choosing the diameter, spike height, spike size, and number of spike rows. Most interestingly, I was able to create this model and try a set of Kali’s Teeth for pennies before committing funds for something I may not enjoy.
