Glass Vibrations Faceted Glass Cock Ring

I’ve had some good luck on Etsy lately discovering interesting finds. As a sucker for alternative materials to your boring nickel-plated steel ring, this Glass Vibrations ring stood out immediately thanks to the faceted cut on the outside and the charming black glass material.

It took me a while to commit to purchasing this ring, though - the cost of the ring is spot-on and worth every dime… but the cost to ship from Saarbrücken, Germany to the Midwest US was almost twice the cost of the unit. I confirmed that wasn’t a listing error with Giovannina via Etsy messenger. In retrospect, given that Glass Vibrations deals primarily in glass units, shipping and packaging must be done carefully to avoid a broken piece from showing up.

The ring itself is both wonderful and (very) slightly disappointing at the same time. The faceted cut is dashingly handsome and the deep, obsidian black color of the glass is delicious. The depth of the coloring is so intense that a light directly behind it showed no penetration of the light. You could think that this ring is made of steel if it weren’t for the lighter weight of glass. This is different from the glass rings one would find from falcon which are slightly transparent. The disappointment comes the fact that the finish just doesn’t seem to have enough “luster” as one would expect from a glass piece. I’m not sure how to best describe it, but it bears a slightly dull finish, which unfortunately causes the unique, faceted exterior cut to disappear unless the light directly hits the ring. Naturally this gets a bit worse s you handle the ring with smudges or fingerprints being fairly visible.

Aside from the very slight disappointment in the visual aspects of the ring, there’s nothing more to worry about. The design of this ring is awesome and the comfort factor is very high thanks to the well rounded edges and generous height/width of the ring. So long as you choose the right size, expect to be comfortable with this ring whether it’s only for heat-of-the-moment play, or all day (and night) wear.
