Hard Man Outfitters, known for their cool designs, released this cock splint a while ago. I thought it was neat at the time I saw it, but didn’t jump at the addition. As a subscriber to their newsletter, it popped in as a sale item (or some other discount) and it reminded me that I should give it a whirl!

This splint has an interesting design. Built from aluminum and coated with a hammered gray metallic finish, it is much lighter than it appears. The full length of the splint at the bottom is just shy of 4 inches at 3.95" with a ball opening of 1.4" x 1.76". This opening has rounded edges at the corners to prevent unneeded discomfort. The splint transitions to a shaft ring gradually right around the center of the ball opening. Think of this like a triple ring cock cage that doesn’t have an opening for the cock and balls to go through. The shaft opening for the medium size is 1.365" with a hefty band at about .035" thick. The width of the shaft ring is right at 1" and features a gem embedded into the splint at the top for a bit of added flare. All edges of the splint are rounded, as you would expect, to keep sharp edges from digging in to our oh-so-sensitive flesh.

Wearing the splint is an experience indeed. Unlike a triple ring cage, the shaft and ball openings are separated a bit more with this design. This means that it’s important that your anatomy perfectly fit the openings. To account for this, HMO made the ball opening rectangular so your hangers can hang forward or back however you are made - a smart touch! On the topic of anatomy, for me, the width of the splint on my ‘undercarriage’ was a bit too wide and long which caused the splint to angle upward while wearing. Since I have a slight downward bend to my shaft, this is a welcome lift. The overall look of this adornment is fascinating. It’s a lot of metal so everything appears bolted on and locked in. One thing to be aware of, though: the shaft ring is 1" wide. That’s a lot of metal on your shaft. With this much metal, it makes the length appear a bit shorter. As an average lengthed man, this means something like 20% of my shaft is covered by metal at the base.

Overall I do really like this design. Given the width and the fact that it doesn’t sit perfectly well with my anatomy, it isn’t well suited for being worn in a covert sense… which makes sense given the purpose! I would still suggest a few changes to make it optimal (for me - which may not be optimal for most). The first is a simple one - reduce the length and width of the splint at the bottom, possibly moving the ball opening forward in the process. This will allow it to sit more closely to my body, but will probably reduce the slight upward angle that I enjoy about this model. The second suggestion would be to ditch the hammered/matte gray finish and go with something polished. For my tastes, a polished metal finish is a timeless design that looks great on all skin types and catches the sun in gorgeous ways. I didn’t analyze the coating, but perhaps I could remove it and polish the adornment? This, of course, is a subjective preference - and maybe you prefer the matte gray (or even the black option). The final adjustment I would recommend which is probably appropriate for most cocks out there is to reduce the width of the shaft ring. A 1" shaft ring covers quite a bit of skin. While it certainly doesn’t make the shaft any shorter, the proportion of metal to flesh makes it appear to be shorter than it is… or maybe I just need to find a way to grow an extra inch so this one looks better?
