There are already a few Himeros rings in my collection and I am pleased to add another after some downtime buying higher end rings. I decided to pick Zeus up because I only have one or two gold tone adornments and it gave a very striking appearance in the images Andrew posted while describing the process of making a custom adornment matching my wedding ring as it was juxtaposed beside the finished product.
As is the case with King Rings, Himeros rings are based on available designs for finger rings, but enlarged and tweaked to serve a greater purpose on your manhood. The attention to detail shows, of course. After deciding to purchase a gold tungsten carbide ring, I was torn between Zeus and the King Rings Gold Champ. They are very comparable, but I chose Zeus because the hammered/faceted outer profile seemed to have a more visually interesting appeal. I’m quite pleased with the results.
Zeus, like practically all ultra-premium adornments has a gently radiused inner profile. It flows into a step cut corner on the exterior of the ring with a radiused edge on the steps to prevent pinching/digging. The outer profile features a slightly raised band with a hammered (faceted?) brushed finish creating a striking contrast between the polished and hammered portions. The quality of the finish and the design is on par with a ring of this price.
This beast is the second heaviest adornment in my collection (the top spot goes to a custom created wire ring, I believe) tipping the scales at almost 10.5 oz. It is slightly heavier than the my custom wedding band model created by Himeros. Manufacturing tolerances were right on spec (within .5mm) to produce a 1.869 inner diameter and a wide .7925" band.
As is noted for my other reviews, these tungsten carbide rings are heavy and, because of their jewelry quality finish, are very smooth. This means they definitely will slide down if wearing all day, so be prepared to use some hockey tape on the inside for friction or regularly adjust. In any event, you’re going to love this ring!
