KD over at KINK3D reached out to share some exciting news. They are expanding their line of high quality 3D printed chastity adornments to include a new cock ring - and asked if I would like a review sample to share thoughts and opinions. Of course, I’m always excited to try something new, so quickly jumped at the opportunity! When the ring arrived, I immediately put it on and wore it for two days straight to get a clear feeling for fit and performance. Call me a fan!
To start, many may be put off by the fact that this is a 3D printed ring - but I am pleased to report that the printing is very well done. As with other KINK3D designs, the finish is top notch. Upon careful inspection of the adornment, you’d be hard pressed to detect that it is 3D printed. The typical layer lines and markings on the top and bottom surfaces are not present. Instead, you are treated to a subtly textured finish with a slight sheen. It goes without saying that this ring is processed after printing to achieve this premium finish.
While I appreciate the details and quality of the finish, the design of the ring itself is what really sets it apart. The ring features a small amount of curve to sit close to the body and includes clever sculpting to amp up the visual appeal and comfort. In addition to the curve of the ring itself, the center profile is also elongated rather than perfectly round - a smart adjustment given that nobody’s anatomy is perfectly circular. The ring also features edges that increase in width from top to bottom while tapering from back to front. This is another savvy detail added that nudges the placement of scrotum and testicles forward while not adding too much bulk at the top of the ring to detract from the sleek visual appeal.
The 1.965" x 1.85" inner opening is paired with a .3" thick ring profile closer to the body. This thicker profile tapers to roughly half the thickness from back to front consistently across the full profile of the ring. The thickness of the ring from back to front is .57" at the bottom and begins winnowing down to .37" at the top around the midway point of the ring’s profile. This design element is probably the most striking part of the ring, and is well paired to the tapered back to front profile. Being 3D printed, this ring is a feather light .4oz and is finished in a deep black color.
This adornment wears fantastically. The smart design elements come together to put the whole package on display. As with all non-circular inner profiles, sizing can be a bit different because of the changes in inner geometry. Having shared that my optimal size is 1.875" for a circular adornment, KD recommended size 46 (46mm x 49mm). This works well for my anatomy and provides a nice pump similar to a 1.875" ring. While the ring wears wonderfully for play time, there is a slight hiccup for those that like to adorn themselves all day long. Because of the tapered design front to back, it is easier to experience pinching when wearing this ring under clothes - particularly stiffer or heavier weight clothes like jeans. Given the design, this is to be expected and just comes with the territory. While increasing the curve of the ring to stay tighter along the body beneath the scrotum may help, it may lead to a design tradeoff where increased comfort for one person is uncomfortable for another. That said, I had no issues when not being worn under heavier clothes. Knowing my size well and that this ring fits perfectly in my sweet spot for safety, I slept with it on twice without issue.
To summarize simply, this design is one of the most unique designs in my collection of hundreds of adornments. Some rings curve, one or two taper, some vary in width top to bottom… but only this example from Kink3D does all at once - and with great effect. With such a smart design partnered with the high quality finish, this adornment is a unique standout. It’s an excellent ring for play and works well for all day wear beneath lighter clothing. As a prototype/planned design, I’d have to say that KD completely knocked it out of the park on this one. It would be particularly exciting to see this available in a multitude of colors and perhaps make its way into the cobra lineup as an option for the base ring, too. Pairing it with a shaft ring as a kit would be icing on the cake for me given how much I love double rings. I look forward to seeing where KINK3D takes it next!
