ManAdorned Aluminum Net

I loved my first self-designed and created ring so much that I was practically antsy to try making another. As a complete nut for fishnet thigh highs, I thought it would be fun to design an adornment that simulated a fishnet pattern. For full effect, there would need to be a thick border and raised netting. The thought experiment turned out to fail in the real world, unfortunately! A fishnet diamond pattern (taller than it is wide) being raised from the field it is in is not possible because of the conical shape of the CNC bit. Further, the machine really does prefer to stick to 90 degree angles. Having gone back to the drawing board with two or three other designs, this design with 90 degree angles and inset-rather-than-raised is the one I settled on - and it turned out fantastic!

While it does not quite resemble fishnet, the 45 degree rotated grid pattern is striking and handsome. The raised borders above and below the pattern which bevel half a millimeter down to a nicely rounded outer profile edge gives the adornment a very visually interesting appearance and they also serve well to further accent the pattern in the center of the ring. Knowing this would be another experiment for learning, I decided to increase the inner radius for a more rounded design. In practice, this one or two millimeter adjustment of the inner profile did not make a difference that I could feel… but it remains one of the most comfortable rings in my collection thanks to the well proportioned width and height. This promises optimal distribution of the pressure leading to some large results!
