ManAdorned Stainless Pillowed Segments

In case you can’t tell, I’ve come to enjoy custom designing my own adornments based on whatever design thoughts pop into mind! The design for this one struck me as I noticed our kitchen cabinets. When designing the kitchen a few years back, I recalled a myriad of choices regarding material/shape/cut/style/etc - just for the door frames. I remembered that we fell in love with the “pillowed” effect cabinets in a dark, rich stained color. That “pillowed” effect is what served as the inspiration for this design.

While the design was inspired by having a rounded inner field, prototypes showed that a plain, curved surface was too bland. To address this, I added carved vertical lines to break up the horizontal field. This worked well, and after a bit of experimentation, I settled on an evenly spaced set of cuts that gave a square appearance. Because I came to love the rounded outer profile that mates into a slightly raised “border” on the outside surface of the ring, I carried that facet of the design forward. I think it looks great! With this particular adornment made of stainless steel instead of aluminum, the regal design is augmented with a polished and dark hued metal finish.

It goes without saying that the custom specifications for my exact size (landing at about 1.866" diameter and .591" width for this iteration) coupled with a well radiused inner profile makes for a very comfortable fit! As with other carved designs, the only concern with this ring is keeping the grooves clean after extended wear sessions or romps in the bedroom!
