Wood Hard Wear Plywood Cock Ring

Finally! Another active manufacturer in wood adornments!!! Wood Hard Wear had a brief stint on Etsy selling wood rings, but life got in the way and the shop went on hiatus. As it turns out, the world of great appreciation for adornments is a small world, and I ran into Renlo on a chance thread on Reddit! He’s been recently experimenting in designs again and is rebooting at a new web shop woodhardwear.com.

Although I missed the opportunity to purchase on Etsy a while back, I finally have the opportunity to try one of the designs in my preferred size. Seeking a 1.875" ring, Renlo built this fine example from cabinet grade plywood (my guess is pine given the colors). Being hand crafted, landing at 1.85" after sanding and finishing the adornment, it’s clear that he’s a proud craftsman! With the body of the ring composed of wood, it comes in at a cool .4oz in weight.

Call me a fan! My first reaction to the ring was that the gloss finish was strikingly good looking. The multiple layers of the wood are nicely accented by the simple finish which allows the wood to just shine through. There’s so much to be said about the natural beauty of wood when given a nice “wet” look lacquer or poly coat. I was initially concerned that the ring does not have a radiused inner edge, so would not be as comfortable as it could be. I didn’t expect it, but it’s completely unnoticeable! This is because the width of the ring, at nearly .7", ensures a nice and even distribution of pressure at the same time the gently radiused corners prevent digging (the one failing found in the custom ebony design created by The Wooden Ring Company for me.

All told, I’m delighted to add this adornment to the collection. The light weight, handsome and natural finish, as well as excellent proportions ensures the ring has a star spot!
